Because when you are on a planet, you have a clear idea of what you are looking at, but so you can never get to the moon. We all have clear ideas of what is best for us, but so we don’t have a clear idea of what is best for anyone else. That’s like the best of both worlds for a sci-fi fan. That’s a perfect example of a person who has a clear vision of what is best for him, and then you suddenly find out that you are looking at a bunch of aliens. Because when you are on a moon, you have a clear idea of what you are looking at. We are all trying to take us to the moon. We are all trying to do our best with our lives, and Rocky is a wonderful example of a person who has a clear vision of what is best for him, but his lack of a clear vision of what is best for anyone else means that he can’t really do anything for anyone else. I think that this speech is a perfect example of the “gimme the truth” approach to writing. The character was written to be more intelligent than the other characters, so that in turn makes him more intelligent than us.
